CCTV Cameras on the New Edgbaston Tram Route
3 Public Space IP CCTV cameras have been installed along the new Edgbaston tram way extension. Specialist and bespoke security providers Watch Systems Limited, were awarded the contract in August 2020. Unsurprisingly the Covid-19 crisis caused some operational difficulties, but despite these challenges, the project was completed on time.
“The current pandemic has obviously caused us some operational difficulties. But the rollout of the CCTV installation was a key priority for us and I’m pleased to say that my team pulled together to ensure that the installation continued throughout the pandemic”, explained Simon Trimmer, Watch Systems Director.
CCTV is a powerful tool and these robust security measures will provide the travelling public with confidence and reassurance.
When the route opens in late 2021, three new tram stops will connect passengers to Brindleyplace, Five Ways and Hagley Road, providing links to popular tourist attractions including the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, the International Convention Centre and Symphony Hall.
